Students from Howard University visited LMC and volunteered their time cleaning up the cemetery in 2026.

On March 10, 2026, Howard University students from Washington, D.C. while on their Alernative Spring Break partnered with local group Friends with Urban Nature (FUN) led by Peter Van Brussel to clean up the cemetery.
