Join the LePageville Memorial Cemetery, Inc. for its Presentation "A Symposium", ‘Restored Lives & Legacies: Sketches from the Savannah’s LePageville Community,’ hosted by the Savannah State University (SSU) in the Student Union Event Room ‘C’ on April 6, 2018, from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The spring symposium will highlight the importance of research to uncover the lives of African-American communities within the history of Savannah. The opening keynote will be given by Dr. Otis S. Johnson, Scholar-in-Residence at Savannah State University, in the Student Ballroom at 10 a.m. In addition to Dr. Otis Johnson, the symposium will hear from Dr. Martha L. Keber, author of Ebb and Flow, Life & Community in Eastern Savannah, Rev. Mathew S. Brown, Sr., Ms. Kellie Fletcher, Dr. Deborah Johnson-Simon, and Ms. Camile Matthews of the Georgia Humanities office in Atlanta.
